Baldor Electric Company celebrates 85th Anniversary

March 22, 2005 ... Baldor Electric Company, based in Fort Smith, Arkansas, a leading North American manufacturer of industrial electric motors, drives and generators, celebrates its 85th year of business in March 2005. The company was founded in St. Louis, Missouri in 1920 by Mr. E.C. Ballman and Mr. E. Doerr. Over the years, Baldor has grown to become the industry's most preferred industrial electric motor manufacturer, with sales of $648 million in 2004. The company is traded on the NYSE under the symbol BEZ and does business in more than 60 countries around the World.

During the past 85 years of business, Baldor has focused on "being the best (as determined by our customers) marketers, designers and manufacturers of industrial electric motors, drives and generators," as stated in our Mission Statement.
